Google Pixel tablet with charging speaker dock That’s a 26 percent discount and the lowest price ever for a tablet, making it a great deal for a device that’s only been on the market for less than a year.
That’s a 26 percent discount, the lowest on record.
We’ll reiterate that this sale covers the tablet and the charging speaker dock; it’s the latter accessory that accounted for the majority of sales last year. The dock allows the tablet to double as a smart display; it charges the tablet quickly and provides a sturdy base for touch gestures. The speaker is also louder than you’d expect given its size. The combination of a useful dashboard, easy-to-read interface, and impressive audio makes this a very good smart display.
The tablet itself is a bit cool, but still usable: The nano-ceramic coating and glass-like back make it feel more expensive than it actually is, and it’s light, weighing just over a pound, so you won’t feel cramped while streaming the latest hit TV shows, though it is slightly heavier than an iPad Air.
There’s also a handy kickstand/hanger combination, which lets you place the tablet anywhere — handy for following a recipe in the kitchen, for example — and you can hang it right on a cabinet knob. The 2,560 x 1,600 LCD panel isn’t as sharp as the latest OLEDs, but it works well enough.
The Pixel Tablet is the first Google tablet to include a Chromecast receiver that can be controlled from your smartphone, which is especially useful for watching streaming apps, but it only works when docked.
