Two environmental activists from the group “Just Stop Oil” have been arrested after they were inspired by Taylor Swift to cover a private jet in orange paint.
video Post to X On Thursday, two activists were filmed entering a private airfield at London’s Stansted airport – where they claim Swift’s jets are parked – and spraying two jets with paint.
However, a Stansted Airport representative told Business Insider that Swift’s jet was not at the airport at the time of the incident.
Swift’s plane may have originally landed at this airport before being moved. IndependentSwift’s Falcon 7x landed at Stansted Airport at about 11pm on Wednesday.

“We are not opposed to protests but we will always take action where criminal activity occurs,” Superintendent Simon Anslow said in a statement obtained by BI.
The protesters were members of Just Stop Oil, a climate change campaign group which has a history of defacing famous artworks and landmarks, most recently spraying Stonehenge with orange paint.
A representative for Just Stop Oil confirmed to BI that the painted plane does not belong to Swift.
They said the protests were “primarily targeted at private jets,” although the two people involved likely believed Swift’s plane was parked at the airport.

A representative for the group said they specifically singled out Swift’s plane in the social media post because it has the “highest emissions” of all celebrity private jets, and they believed Stansted Airport was where Swift typically stores her private jet while in London.
BI previously reported that the singer logged more than 166 hours traveling on private jets between March and August 2023 as part of the first leg of his hugely popular “Eras Tour.”
However, according to one study, My Climate Trackerquoted by tabTravis Scott was the celebrity who used the most private jets in 2023. According to The Tab, the rapper took 137 flights, emitting 6,061,300 kg of CO2.
Meanwhile, the publication said Swift is not among the top 30 celebrities who will be using private jets the most in 2023.
That’s in stark contrast to 2022.
according to YardSwift emitted the most CO2 of all celebrities in 2022 with 170 flights and an average flight time of 80 minutes, according to the UK-based sustainability marketing company.
A spokesperson for Swift previously told BI that her jet is “regularly chartered to other people” and that it is “clearly false” to attribute most of the travel to Swift alone.
A spokesperson for the singer previously said she also purchased carbon credits to offset her jet use.
Swift is in London for the UK leg of her Eraser tour, playing three sold-out shows at Wembley Stadium before returning in August for additional dates.
