But that doesn’t mean you won’t see discounts on other items, including electronics, during Walmart’s members-only shopping event.
How to prepare for Prime Day
It’s best to go into Amazon Prime Day as prepared as possible, which means knowing exactly what you want, staying focused, and avoiding distractions. Amazon’s entire site will be overwhelming on Prime Day, so the less time you spend aimlessly browsing, the more your wallet will thank you later.
One thing you can do to stay on track during Prime Day is to make a list of the items you want most before the event. This takes a little bit of prep work, but you’ll be glad you did once the event begins. Write down the most important items you want to get your hands on on Prime Day. You can do it the old-fashioned way, writing them down on sticky notes, or you can use Amazon’s Wishlist feature. Amazon Prime Day Deals
Amazon Prime Day typically lasts for two days, but in recent years the company has begun to run sales well before the event actually begins. We expect the same to happen this year, with early Prime Day sales likely to begin as soon as Amazon officially announces the 2024 Prime Day dates.
Prime Day early sales and same-day sales, Amazon Gadgets Sales are almost guaranteed at the event. Echo speakers, Kindle e-readers, Fire TV devices, and more are sure to hit record low prices on Prime Day, so if you’ve had your eye on any of these items, it’s worth waiting until the sales start. Prime Day discounts will rival Black Friday, so you might get another chance to grab a smart speaker for cheap, but probably not until the holiday shopping season.
Amazon gadgets aren’t the only items being discounted on Prime Day. There will be sales on a wide variety of products, including clothing, shoes, household goods, electronics, and accessories, but Engadget will naturally focus on electronics. Just like last year, we expect to see big discounts on headphones, earphones, gaming accessories, SSD and microSD cards, and robot vacuums on Prime Day this year.
It’s also worth mentioning the types of sales you can expect on Prime Day. Some sales will last the entire event (usually two full days), while others will only last for 24 hours. The 24-hour sales are the hardest to predict, as Amazon doesn’t usually indicate how long the sales will last. We recommend buying the items you’re most interested in as soon as they drop in price, so you can be sure to grab them while the discount is available and the items are still in stock.
There will also be some “lightning sales” happening during Prime Day. Thankfully, these sales usually have a clear message on the product page telling you how much time they have left on the sale. In our experience, only a handful of these flash sales are actually worth paying for, but if you see an item that’s been on your wishlist marked down for just a few hours, it’s a good idea to snap it up quickly.
Amazon deals you can buy before Prime Day
We’re not going to call these sales “early Prime Day sales” just yet, but while we wait for more Prime Day details to be revealed, these are some of the best sales you can get on Amazon right now. We’ll update this list as prices change or we find more of the best Amazon deals available.
