After a brief false start, Ubisoft has released the trailer for the upcoming remake of the cult classic game. Beyond Good and EvilThe video first appeared in a tweet from the game studio, but was later deleted. Apparently, we really Beyond Good and Evil – 20th Anniversary Edition It is scheduled to be released on June 25th. It will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Limited Run Games will also be available. The remastered version will be available from July 12th for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch.
The two-minute trailer showcases new and updated art assets. The remastered version will run at up to 4K and 60 FPS and will come with a re-orchestrated soundtrack. It also promises “exclusive new content,” though it’s unclear what that will include. Check out the full video for yourself.
Much of today’s discussion of Beyond Good and Evil has been about a planned remaster in the first place. A listing appeared on the Xbox Store, and an incomplete version was briefly featured on Ubisoft Plus in 2023 due to technical issues. And whenever Beyond Good and Evil is mentioned, regular readers may note that a sequel has been in the works for over a decade. No, this update doesn’t appear to provide any new information on that project.
What a long and strange development cycle it has been.
