AmazonAmazon Prime Day mega sales event will return on July 16th and 17th. Announced Tuesday.
Amazon said that, like previous years, the event will feature millions of deals, with new discounts being introduced “every five minutes during select periods throughout the event.”
The company said it will again offer exclusive Prime sales, where customers can request an invite to get discounts on items that usually sell out quickly. The company first introduced exclusive Prime sales last year.
Amazon launched Prime Day in 2015 to offer discounts exclusively to members of its flagship subscription program, which costs $139 a year and includes perks like fast shipping and access to streaming services. The discounts are also intended to attract new Prime subscribers and promote Amazon’s products and services, boosting sales during what is typically a slow shopping period.
The event has also become a big revenue generator for other retailers, who hold competing events during or around Prime Day. Walmart held its Prime Day event on Tuesday. Announced A unique “Walmart Deal” event will be held from July 8 to July 11. In past years, the goal, Coles and Best Buy We have started a similar event.
Last year, online sales in the U.S. during Amazon’s Prime Day event hit a record $12.7 billion, surpassing 2022’s total of $11.9 billion, according to Adobe Analytics. Amazon said it sold 375 million items during the two-day discount event, up from 300 million in 2022.
