Ooni has slashed the price on two of its most popular pizza ovens: the Fyra 2 It dropped to $250starting at $350, and high-end Cal 16 is $650 Not $800, but a bargain at close to a record low price.
The Fyra 12 made it onto our list of the best pizza ovens with ease, and for good reason. This outdoor oven features a proven, compact design so it doesn’t take up much storage space when not in use. It also weighs just 22 pounds. It uses wood pellets instead of chunks, making it much easier to maintain a fire.
A convenient chute on top makes it easy to refill the pellets. This oven excels at high baking temperatures up to 950°F. At this high temperature, pizzas cook in about a minute. The only drawback is that, as the name suggests, the oven can only bake pies up to 12 inches. This is a great advantage for aspiring pizza chefs who have to bake multiple pies to feed hungry families, as the short cooking time makes it easier.
The Karu 16 actually topped our list of the best pizza ovens, naming it the best multi-fuel unit. It’s the company’s largest multi-fuel model, meaning you can choose between wood, charcoal, or gas to bake your pie. However, the propane and natural gas burners are sold separately.
It has a hinged glass door for watching your pie bake and a digital thermometer for monitoring the interior temperature. Another plus is that this oven is large, as it can bake a 16-inch pizza, which is roughly the same size as a giant pie served at a professional pizzeria.
