Elon Musk Kamala Harris dresses up as a ‘communist dictator’ It’s clear that the photo seen on X last week is a fake: Harris is not a communist, or, as far as we know, a Soviet cosplayer, and, as many observers have pointed out, the woman in the photo, which was probably generated by X’s Grok tool, only bears a passing resemblance to the vice president.
“AI still can’t accurately portray Kamala Harris” Written by a certain X user“Apparently they’re posting random Latina women.”
“Glok put Eva Longoria in a fancy dress and called it a day,” said another, referring to the “dictator” in the photo. Desperate Housewives Star.
“AI can’t recreate Kamala Harris” Posted 3rd“It’s strange how badly the algorithm fails an American (of South Indian and Jamaican descent).”
Many artificial intelligence image of Harris is equally bad. AI-Generated Video A video depicting Harris’s romantic relationship with Donald Trump, culminating in Harris holding a baby boy who resembles Trump, has been viewed nearly 28 million times on Channel X. Throughout the montage, Harris transforms into a completely different person, while Trump’s image remains remarkably superior and largely consistent.

Report A study by the Center for Countering Digital Hate found that the tool can be used to generate a variety of politically charged images.
Similarly, OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini refused to generate images of Harris or Trump in WIRED’s tests, while many open source image generators such as Grok generate images of politicians. WIRED found that one such model, Stable Diffusion, also produced a poor image of Harris.
Modern AI image generators generate images from text prompts using what are called diffusion models. These models are fed thousands of labeled images, typically scraped from the web or collected from other sources. Free PickCompanies that run a range of AI tools, including several image-generators, told WIRED that the reason the generators have a harder time coming up with Harris compared to Trump is because there are fewer properly labeled images.
Despite her celebrity, Harris has not been photographed as widely as Trump: A WIRED search of photo supplier Getty Images found 63,295 photos of Harris and 561,778 of Trump. Because Harris is a relatively new entrant into the presidential race, she’s a “new celebrity” to AI image makers, Cuenca-Abella says. “It always takes us a few months to catch up,” he says.
