Altman gave the example of someone who wants to build a house: With AI, they could think about and come up with ideas for what their dream home would be like, and then AI could invent a robot that would bring that vision to life by actually building the house.

While AI construction is still in its early stages, the technology can generate floor plans and interior and exterior renderings based on prompts. A community of 3D printed homes in Texas is also nearing completion, with 25% of the units sold.
Altman also faced personal problems with a home he bought for $27 million in 2020, filing a lawsuit against the developer in July.
