Travis and his brother Jason talked about Tesla’s electric pickup truck on the latest episode of their podcast, “New Heights,” which aired on Wednesday.
Jason, who also owns a Cybertruck, said he was “a little nervous” when he took his car to the wash.
“There’s a lot of stuff out there. The Cybertruck shorts out in a car wash,” Jason said on the podcast.
“I think something just wasn’t sealed properly, but one time it rained and I parked my car and the door kept opening until it dried and then it closed again.”
Tesla First Announced Cybertruck produced in November 2019The company initially Vehicles will be shipped in 2021, However, due to design changes, the launch has been postponed to November 2023.
After the Cybertruck was released, customers complained, with some owners noticing rust on their Cybertrucks after getting wet in the rain.
In April, about 4,000 Cybertrucks were recalled due to a faulty accelerator pedal, then in June, more than 11,000 were recalled due to a windshield wiper issue.
“They needed to get these things out, they needed to get them out fast,” Jason told Travis on the podcast.
“Did they have to rush him out? It took them three extra summers to figure that out,” Travis said with a laugh.
But the Kansas City Chiefs tight end seems to be a fan of the Cybertruck, and he’s also expressed interest in buying Tesla’s CyberQuad all-terrain vehicle.
The Cyberquad was announced at the same time as the Cybertruck in 2019, but has not yet gone on sale. Tesla launched a children’s version of the Cyberquad in December 2021.
“That thing is awesome,” Travis said of the Tesla Cybertruck.
“I want that little four-wheeler. It’s nice,” he added.
Travis’s praise of the Cybertruck is surprising, given the Tesla CEO’s comments about the Swift.
On Tuesday, Swift said she was endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris for president, an endorsement that immediately drew a response from Musk, who had supported former President Donald Trump.
“Okay Taylor… you win… I’ll give you my kids and protect your cat with my life,” Musk said in a post on X on Wednesday.
The quip marks a change in tone for Musk, who has had more friendly interactions with Swift on the platform.
In April, Musk praised the success of Swift’s latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”
“Even though I’m not the target demographic, this is still very impressive!” Musk said in an April 29 post on X.
Representatives for Travis Kelsey and Tesla did not immediately respond to requests for comment sent outside regular business hours.
