Hundreds of drivers in New York City have joined a union in hopes of getting better wages and working conditions. The union says the majority of drivers for three Delivery Service Partners (DSP) companies working at a warehouse in Queens have signed authorization cards.

But the union has achieved some success for Amazon workers. Last month, the local National Labor Relations Board director Amazon is a joint employer of several third-party drivers in Palmdale, California. The Teamsters hope the ruling will set a precedent for DSP drivers in other areas. The drivers in Queens are the first Amazon workers to organize with the Teamsters in response to the ruling.
