Shaping a New Narrative in Media and Publishing
Teresita Angela Terga’s life has been a tapestry of creativity, resilience, and an unshakable belief in the power of storytelling. As a Cuban-American creative force, Teresita has worn many hats—teacher, filmmaker, screenwriter, and publisher. Her journey has seen her rise from humble beginnings to become the founder of TAT Productions and Conscious Arts Media Productions, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to supporting artpreneurs with essential professional services. Her work transcends traditional creative boundaries, aiming to uplift consciousness and inspire change through media, literature, and film.
“I follow my vision of a better world,” says Teresita. It’s this vision that fuels her passion for storytelling with purpose—a drive that has seen her author books, produce short films, and help other artists bring their creative works to life. With multiple projects in development, spanning children’s literature, historical fiction, magical realism, and poetry, Teresita remains a steadfast advocate for the transformative power of storytelling. Her ultimate goal? To entertain, educate, and raise the collective consciousness of her audience.
The Birth of TAT Productions and Conscious Arts Media Productions
The foundation of Teresita’s professional empire lies in the creation of TAT Productions, a sole proprietorship that allows her to pursue her passion for publishing, screenwriting, and media production. Through this venture, she produces books, screenplays, and e-books while providing essential support for other authors and filmmakers. But her commitment to storytelling didn’t stop there. Recognizing the need to uplift other creative professionals, she established Conscious Arts Media Productions, a nonprofit aimed at offering professional development services for artpreneurs, from training in publishing to support with film production.
“Independent publishing and filmmaking have come a long way, and I want to be part of its growth,” Teresita explains. Her nonprofit provides tools and guidance to creative professionals who may not have access to the resources of large media companies. By building these bridges, she ensures that authentic voices can be heard and meaningful stories can reach their intended audiences.
A Journey Rooted in Resilience and Self-Discovery
Teresita’s path to becoming a creative powerhouse was anything but linear. Born in Cuba, she emigrated to the United States with her family, eventually settling in Boston before moving to Venezuela. There, she trained as a translator at the Berlitz School of Interpreters, a skill that would later prove invaluable in her storytelling pursuits. Returning to the U.S., she earned a BA in Education from Florida Atlantic University while raising two children. For over 22 years, she taught Language Arts across South Florida, inspiring young minds with her passion for language, literature, and storytelling.
Her desire for greater creative expression eventually led her to film school, where she produced a 54-minute feature film and several shorts. After earning an MFA in Screenwriting and an MS in Media Management, Teresita entered the world of media production and publishing full-time. But like many artists, her journey was not without challenges. In 2018, she faced a major health setback due to arthritis, requiring hip replacements that temporarily halted her pursuits. However, her resolve was unbreakable. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she returned to her creative roots, pouring her energy into launching TAT Productions and Conscious Arts Media Productions.
“Startup madness is real, and the learning curve can bring you down,” she reflects on the early days of her business. “But with patience, adaptability, and a commitment to learning, I’ve found the right path.” Today, she embodies the role of an authorpreneur, helping others achieve success while building her own.
Storytelling for a Higher Consciousness
At the heart of Teresita’s creative work is a focus on conscious storytelling. Her projects seek to teach audiences about mindfulness, compassion, and awareness. Her critically acclaimed book “Utopia” tells the story of survivors of a nuclear holocaust who attempt to rebuild society through enlightenment and the powers of the human mind. This work embodies her belief in storytelling as a force for change.
Another highly anticipated project is “Path to Peace”, a book based on 14 keywords that help readers cultivate peace in their lives. This work, written by a Cuban psychologist, explores inner transformation and the path to mental well-being—an ethos that mirrors Teresita’s mission in both her creative and community endeavors.
Through her art, Teresita invites audiences to think deeply, not just about the world around them but also about the world within. Her aim is to spark conversations that challenge old beliefs and awaken a higher sense of self.
A Legacy in the Making
With her eye on the future, Teresita has bold plans for both TAT Productions and Conscious Arts Media Productions. She aims to create blockbuster films, bestselling novels, and widely viewed multimedia projects that reflect the heart of conscious storytelling. She envisions a future where stories rooted in compassion, empathy, and awareness become mainstream. Her ultimate goal is to achieve creative and commercial success while leaving a legacy of positive impact on audiences around the world.
Teresita Angela Terga isn’t just telling stories—she’s reshaping them, empowering others to find their voice, and opening doors for the next generation of creators. Her work reminds us that storytelling is more than entertainment—it is a vehicle for transformation.
