Amazon is working on a live-action Spider-Man Noir series, according to varietyIt will reportedly focus on “the aging grizzled superhero of 1930s New York City” — not Peter Parker.
Spider-Man Noir is an alternate version of the web-throwing hero who first appeared in the 2009 Marvel Comics series of the same name. The comic version is set in his 1933, with a freshly bitten Spidey navigating New York City’s Great Depression-era criminal gangs. The character, who exists in a world separate from the mainline Spider-Man stories, also appeared in the 2018 film. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, voiced by Nicolas Cage.The report doesn’t say if Cage will be involved in the new project, but the actor is Said He wasn’t asked to return for the next animated sequel. The as-yet-untitled series will be Amazon’s second project based on the Marvel superheroes managed by Sony. Silk: Spider SocietyOren Uziel will write and executive produce the show. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Alumni Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal share executive producing credits.
Sony manages the movie rights to Spider-Man and supporting characters such as Venom, Carnage, Vulture and Black Cat. Additionally, he is currently working with Marvel Studios on his MCU film franchise starring Tom Holland.
