Microsoft is reportedly planning to introduce upgraded Office apps with AI capabilities in the coming weeks.according to The Bargethe tech giant is preparing to demonstrate what its Prometheus AI technology and OpenAI’s language AI can do in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other Microsoft 365 apps this March. We announced Bing, reimagined, capable of generating conversational responses to search queries thanks to a Prometheus model built on the ground.
Additionally, the company has introduced a new Edge with a built-in “AI Copilot” powered by Prometheus. A button in the upper right corner gives the user quick access to his Bing’s new chat features. It’s like using his ChatGPT in your browser as explained in the hands-on. The Barge Microsoft wants its AI technology to be able to generate charts and graphics for use in PowerPoint and Excel. According to a previous report published by informationthe company also wants to enable AI models to generate text using simple prompts within Office apps.
It’s no surprise that Microsoft seems to be rushing to introduce new AI-powered features to its products. The company appears to be moving quickly to get as many people as possible to start using its product before Google launches its rival, ChatGPT. Apparently, Microsoft originally planned to announce the new Bing in late February, but it has moved up the launch and scheduled it before Google’s announcement of his Bar. The company will also continue to expand its list of AI-powered capabilities, seeing as it recently signed a “billion dollar” investment in OpenAI last month.
