At least 14 people were injured in an explosion that hit a metal factory in Ohio Monday afternoon. The explosion occurred just 15 miles (15 miles) from Cleveland and 70 miles (70 miles) from an East Palestinian village where a train carrying toxic chemicals derailed earlier this month.
The explosion at the I. Schumann & Co. factory in Bedford, Ohio occurred around 2:15 pm on Monday. local news.
Thirteen people were taken to hospital, most of them with burns, according to the report. Reuters, and one is in critical condition. One was pulled out of the rubble.
The Village of Oakwood fire and police departments did not immediately respond to an insider’s request for comment.
Fire departments in northeastern Ohio rushed to the site of the Bedford factory blast, Reuters reported.
Witnesses told Reuters that large plumes of smoke could be seen billowing from the building and that the explosion rained molten metal debris into the surrounding area.

A nearby business owner told Reuters he heard a loud explosion followed by a large amount of debris hitting the roof.
Another witness near the factory said he saw black smoke, fire and a brick wall “disappear” following the blast.
