Dear readers, career regrets are common. I am Diamond Naga Siu. I regretted getting a job for the first time after graduating from university. While working there, I thought I would never be a journalist. And for more than half a year after I retired, I had a repeating nightmare about working there.
Not regretting one’s decisions has definitely been a process — it’s clearly a common experience for people. We analyzed how to reduce career regrets.
Two pieces of advice from their storytellers that really resonated with me: Forgive yourself and recognize that there is a lot to undo. I hope that you will also agree with me.

Googlers aren’t afraid to criticize leadership within the company.

Googlers reluctantly test their own ChatGPT competitors. CEO Sundar Pichai asked all employees to spend a few hours testing Google’s new chatbot Bard. This was the search engine response to his ChatGPT on OpenAI. But Googlers just don’t enjoy testing it.
- Shortly after 12,000 Google employees were laid off, employees are complaining about additional responsibilities. In addition to their normal responsibilities, they were tasked with making Bard better by asking questions and flagging inappropriate answers.
- Unenthusiastic employees used internal forums to complain about new tasks. Some continue the trend of making memes out of their conversations with Bard and making fun of the chatbot inside.
- According to leaked messages seen by insiders, one employee asked Bird to make a joke about Google’s layoffs. “I want to make a joke about Google’s layoffs, but unfortunately I don’t have work tomorrow.”

8. Leasing an electric car may be your best bet. EVs are still relatively new. As such, the future value of used EVs is still relatively unknown to both buyers and automakers. This is why EV leasing makes the most sense.

9. Get a complete tour of sea life arrangements. An old Holland America cruise ship transformed into a residential vessel. A sales manager told an insider that the ship was reimagined as a “floating nursing home.”
