Today, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced via Instagram that the company is reducing the prices of its Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest Pro headsets.
Starting March 5, 2023, the 256 GB Quest 2 will be $429.99 (formerly available for $499.99. South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, UK.
Meanwhile, Meta’s recently released mixed reality device, the Quest Pro, is available for $999.99 (previously $1,499.99). Users outside the US and Canada will have to wait until March 15th for the Quest Pro price change to take effect (prices may vary by location).
“Our goal has always been to create affordable hardware that makes everything VR has to offer accessible to as many people as possible,” the company said in an official blog post. “That’s why we developed the first standalone headset with inside-out tracking, allowing you to experience the freedom of wireless VR without the need for a separate PC or game console.
“While we are not reducing the price of the 128 GB SKU of Meta Quest 2, the new lower price point for 256 GB of storage will allow more people to enjoy fully immersive gaming and experiences. , leading the industry by lowering the price of Meta Quest Pro metal reality technology and Infinity display An optical stack available to more companies and professionals around the world. ”
These discounts apply within one year increase meta All Quest 2 headsets cost $100. The company said the price increase was a direct result of higher production and delivery costs.
