The battle for the Stanley Cup is well underway with the New York Rangers set to take on the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference playoffs on Sunday night.
But for die-hard Blueshirt fans, it can be difficult to plan a trip to North Carolina to watch a game. Ticketmaster prohibits people living outside of North Carolina from purchasing tickets.
At checkout, fans will be presented with the following disclaimer before paying for tickets.
“PNC Arena is located in Raleigh, North Carolina. Sales for this event are limited to residents of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Southern Virginia,” the website says. “Residency is determined based on credit card billing address. Orders placed by residents outside of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Southern Virginia will be canceled without notice and refunded.”
Games 3, 4 and possibly Game 6 are scheduled to be held at PNC Arena.
Unsurprisingly, Rangers fans took to social media to point out that the North Carolina area has a lot of transplants from New York, and limiting ticket sales probably wouldn’t be very effective.
Funny how the Hurricanes are trying to lure Rangers fans away from PNC when there are so many of us here.

The funny thing is, there are a lot of Rangers fans in the area, so that’s not a problem. The regular season games I attended at PNC Arena were packed with Rangers fans, and I can guarantee you that not a single person flew from New York to RDU for the Tuesday night game.

Given that Cary is largely made up of immigrants from New York, the Rangers will likely be well represented at all PNC games

They are scary! Naturally, Rangers fans will continue to think he will break into PNC.

The last time these teams met in the playoffs was in 2022, when the Rangers won after Game 7 of Game 2. The same disclaimer applies to PNC game tickets. According to reports The same applies in that case.
Dates and times for the rest of the series have not yet been announced.
The New York Rangers have no restrictions on who can buy tickets to Game 1 at Madison Square Garden, but there is a cost to enter the arena.
As of Friday afternoon, Cheapest official Tickets listed through Ticketmaster were standing room only (no reserved seating) and priced at $343 each.
Game 1 of the Eastern Conference playoffs between the Rangers and Hurricanes begins at 4:00 pm ET on Sunday at Madison Square Garden.
