Threads is inching closer to becoming a truly useful source for real-time news and updates. Following last month’s feature, the app has finally introduced the ability to search posts by newest.
“To make it easier to find timely and relevant content on threads, we have added[最近]Introducing Tabs,” wrote Adam Mosseri on Instagram. . “Search results here are still graded for quality, but now you can view them chronologically.”
This change has been a long-awaited request from users who hope that Meta’s app will one day become a source of breaking news and real-time information, much like Twitter has traditionally functioned. Being able to search for topics and keywords to find the latest results is key to finding the latest details and commentary on breaking news, sports and other happenings in real time.
Meanwhile, Meta also revealed that he prefers “news” over Threads features. Mosseri said he didn’t want to “encourage” tough news on Threads or that the company actively “encourages” political content. Threads’ default “for you” algorithm is also known for showing posts that are days old, random personal stories, and other content that isn’t exactly timely.
It’s also worth pointing out that the new latest filter in Threads searches is not the same as the “latest” search filter in X. As Mosseri pointed out in his post, Meta still hides an unknown number of “rated” posts in search results. We focus on quality, so you won’t see thread searches all Number of posts containing the search term. However, if you can find posts from at least a few days ago, it will save you a lot of frustration looking for timely information.
