Activision has announced that the next Call of Duty game will be Black Ops 6the publisher Has been updated The company announced the title on the military shooter franchise’s website, promising that “the official line of communication has opened,” which basically means that marketing for the game is shifting from teaser mode to slow reveal mode.
Xbox’s X (Twitter) account was posted in late April as “[REDACTED] The “Direct” event will take place following the Xbox Showcase on Sunday, June 9. It was never a mystery that it would be a Call of Duty announcement: the logo matches the military art style of the series, and it had already been reported that the next instalment in the long-running series is coming this year.

The Call of Duty website features additional teasers that play on the conspiracy theorists’ worldview. The shadowy video shows law enforcement body camera footage of Mount Rushmore (Six Grandfathers Mountain before it was cut open) with blindfolds covering the eyes of each of the four U.S. presidents. The cliché) is revealed and it says, “The truth is a lie.” The logo follows. Other videos on the website show vandals (also in the form of found footage) pasting up posters with the same slogan around the city.
In other words, marketers are doing marketing.
It looks like Microsoft plans to use the new title to boost Game Pass subscriptions. wall street journal Earlier this month, we reported that this title would be the first Call of Duty title to arrive on Game Pass on launch day. We’ll have to see if that strategy provides enough much-needed service improvements to justify the (potentially huge) loss of direct sales to Xbox console owners.
