A study by EnviroHomes Renewables has revealed that the London district of Tower Hamlets has the most energy-efficient homes in England.
The data reviewed shows that in 2022, 76.11% of homes in the region will be in EPC band ‘C’ or above, more than 0.10% higher than in England.
In second place is the City of London area, with 62.74% of homes rated EPC C or above. In third place is Southwark, with 62.07%.
The most energy efficient area outside London is Salford, with 62.04% of homes exceeding a C rating.
Ross Jones, director at Enviro Homes Renewables, said: “There are lots of ways to save energy in your home, but having a poor energy efficiency rating makes it much more difficult and costly to start with, and with the current cost of living this can be a real problem.”
“However, if you don’t live in one of these areas, you can improve your EPC rating by installing insulation, changing lighting or replacing your boiler.”
