Older managers (Millennials, Gen X, Baby Boomers) are always trying to stay ahead of trends in the workplace, lest they come across as “cocky” to Gen Z. But in doing so, leaders can sometimes miss the mark. That’s what seemed to happen at the Canva Create conference on May 23.

Attendees could reserve their seats at the event for $175, and the conference was livestreamed around the world.
“Whether you’re a professional, nonprofit, educator or creative, it’s fast becoming a world-class creative festival with unique opportunities to learn from and network with like-minded innovators.” The company.
However, in a currently viral video, the rapper and his six backing dancers’ musical performance has been slammed as “embarrassing.”
The entire performance felt like an Off-Broadway parody of Hamilton thanks to the lyric inflections and dialogue, but the reviews apparently weren’t what producers wanted to see.

Yes, this is the height of embarrassment. But who cares? I want Canva to keep releasing these musical numbers. Just bear with the embarrassment and make it your brand. Let’s talk about how awful it is and look forward to the next conference.

Canva isn’t the first company to face backlash this month for being “embarrassing.” At Google’s I/O event in early May, musicians His performance was mocked.
Canva didn’t respond immediately Entrepreneurial Request for Comments.
