JD Power did not rank cars in the small, small premium, midsize premium, or midsize premium categories this year due to a small number of vehicles meeting the criteria. Top vehicles in other categories are:

- midsize car: Kia Optima

These vehicles were tops in the pickup category.

Both minivans and SUVs are efficient options for families, but minivans offer more legroom and sliding rear doors that make getting in and out easier for children and those with mobility issues.
